8:30 - 8:50

Molecular Spectroscopy –
Theory and Overview

An introduction to FT-IR Theory and an overview of and Overview today’s modern molecular spectroscopy instrumentation.

8:50 - 10:30

Infrared Workshop –
Sample Handling and Software Integration

For infrared analysis the user has a number of accessories in both hardware and software that can be used to make sample analysis efficient. The presentation highlights the main sampling modes of analysis with infrared. During the presentation samples are run live using Omnic software and a Nicolet iS10 FTIR spectrometer. Brief but important aspects of Omnic are presented to generate interest for discussions during breaks.

10:30 - 10:45

Break

None

10:45 - 11:15

Thermo Scientific OMNIC Software Demonstration

Important aspects of the OMNIC software are presented to generate interest for discussions.

11:15 - 11:45

NIR –
Rugged Performance with Efficiency from Lab to Line

NIR theory, sampling techniques, and applications from lab to process line will be featured. The presentation is followed by a hands on demonstration of the Antaris FT-NIR analyzer. By attending this seminar you will learn how NIR is used for rapid, multi-component analysis that eliminates the need for costly, labor intensive, and time consuming wet chemistry techniques.

11:45 - 12:45

Lunch

None

12:45 - 1:25

Rethinking Raman –
Solution for Real World Problems

The presentation will provide an introduction to Raman spectroscopy and current state of the art instrumentation which will have evolved into reliable, robust and powerful analytical tools. Through specific examples, the attendees will see how Raman can be applied to a wide variety of materials and samples and also show what specific information is contained in the measurement that allows you to gain important and detailed insight a the molecular level.

1:25 - 2:10

Infrared Microscopy and Imaging –
Optimization through Innovation

The two FTIR microscopes that are available are presented, discussing the unique strengths of each system and its software. Results are presented covering different applications where a sample is better served from a microscopic point of view. Integrated videos during the presentation demonstrate advantages of design for the Continuum microscope and powerful software features of Picta software which is used with the iN10 FTIR microscope.

2:10 - 3:00

UV-Vis Workshop –
Simple Applications for Sophisticated Analyses

Materials science and QA/QC laboratories require consistent, high-quality results. This session presents UV-Vis and Fluorescence solutions with particular focus on advanced software features and accessories to simplify today’s complex challenges.
